Climbing back up to the Top!

This past week went great. Friday I had a half day of school so I got out at 10:15 am. I got to spend the playing a game. I had work from 4pm till 10pm. During that time I worked open climb and after open climb we had a group of Franks Neighbor Program. Saturday I got to go to my brothers work Open House till 11 which was really cool because I got to see all of the things that he gets builds. The things he builds are really cool because alot of it is over 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide. After open house we headed up to Adventure Rock to climb for the next 5 hours. During this time all of the routes that I did were 5.10s or higher. I did five lead routes, two that were easier to warm up and then three 5.10+ that I fall twice on each time. After a day of climbing i went to the bouldering caves to work on drill there. I completed my second V4 (5.12 ). I am really happy with how climbed today because it is only my second week back in to full climbing and I am climbing the same grade as I did before my accident that set me back a month. Sunday we had a birthday party for one of the kids that is on the climbing team. After the party I had a lifting program which went really well and I'm happy with. During league I worked on a lot of technique to help my body rest from the day before. Monday I worked classes after a meeting at school. Wednesday  we did alot of lead climbing to get me back into that and after we did alot of stretching with the team. Thursday I had club with alot of fun because we have to figure out how our shocks are going to fit to the frame so the car does not hit the ground. Friday after school I went out to finish my fundraiser for our Climb-A-Thon. Once I completed that I went to the Y to help work Teen Night and a program that rented the rock wall. Saturday we had 2 parties in the rockwall after open climb then we headed up to Adventure Rock to get our climb on. While we were at Adventure Rock I had like a fun day so that I could just see where I was in my climbing grades. I was climbing 5.10+ to 5.11s consistantly, that makes me slightly above the grade I was climbing before my addicent.  I am really happy with where I climbing because I am climbing at my best. Sunday I had a lifting program that all my weights were raised alittle. I am benching 80% of my body weight. After my workout we had open climb and then league. During league we had our Climb-A-Thon which was alot of fun because I climbed over 650ft. Monday during school we had a sumo-bot competition in one class and in my other class we are building clocks, I have almost done with mine. All pictures of the past two weeks will be posted on both facebook and flickr. Any vidoes have been added to youtube. Check them out. We did alot of bouldering that is really neat to watch.

Awesome Birthday Week!

This weekend was awesome! Thursday was family dinner. Friday we headed up to adventure rock for my birthday. I had so much fun and I was really happy with how I was climbing.  Since my accident I have been off climbing for about two weeks. Friday was my first real day back at it and it went so great. I completed a 5.11 lead three times. I was able to do laps on a 5.9 lead and able to complete multiple 5.10s and 5.11s top rope. I was really happy with how I was climbing for not climbing for some time. Saturday we headed up to CMP Tactical Lazer Tag for an hour and half of an awesome game of lazer tag. The setting was like an Urban Warfare setting. Three of the seven games you had to either plant a bomb or defuse it. It was a lot of fun!! Hoping to go back soon. Sunday we did cake and ice cream and presents. After cake and everything we sat down to play a three hour card game. Monday I worked at the YMCA to help teach climbing classes. Tuesday I had school, in one of my engineering we are creating a clock out of plastic. This is going to be a working clock that we create all of the parts for it. I am recreating the Mustang Logo for my brother for Christmas. These should be done by this coming Friday or the Tuesday after. After school we went out to Nicks Fish Market for dinner by O' Hare airport. Wednesday, the day of my birthday, I continued to work on my clock in my one class and then after school I had team training which was a lot of fun. Thursday in all my classes I got to watch movies about engineering disasters. After school I had club. In club we are building almost like a go-kart that is part of Supermilage. We are putting the body panels back one and reassembling the rear axle. Friday I worked open climb at the YMCA and then during Teen Night I got to complete a Sponsorship application for Power Bar. Saturday I worked Open Climb which was fun because I got to help a friend out on how to complete a certain section of a wall. After open climb we had a birthday party to work which was for one of the kids in our league. He had a lot of fun because he got to show all of his friends what he does when he goes to the Y. After his party we headed up to Adventure Rock for the next 5 hours. While we were at Adventure Rock I had a new program for what we do while we are up there. I ended up doing four warm up routes then did 12+ routes that were 5.10+ or harder. More than half of these routes I onsighted (or completed without ever trying it).I am really happy with that considering this is only my second week back to my normal schedule.  Sunday we headed to Verizon to check out a new phone for me then head to the Y to do an upper body work out. After my workout I got to sit down and relax for a little while till I had to do a hard training day on the wall. All my photos and videos have been added to facebook, YouTube and my flickr account. Check them out and see all of the cool routes that I have been doing lately.

Heading Back to the Top

This weekend was quite an adventure. Friday I climbed for about an hour to work on technique drills to get back in the swing of things. Then to relax for a little bit I went to the hot tub. After that I helped work open climb and teen night. Saturday, I could not wait to go to Adventure Rock!! I worked open climb and then headed up to Adventure Rock to get my new climbing shoes that came in. I was super pumped to finally climb in them for a whole day of climbing. I got the La Sportiva Women Muira VS' and I am really happy I got that shoe. It is really nice and a major upgrade for me. Saturday for climbing actually was alot better than I had excepted with my back still really tight. I was able to climb a 5.10 top rope like nothing had happened the week before. I had a really awesome day climbing. Sunday was fun. In the morning I helped my parents move some things around the house. At work we had a Girl Scout Merit Badge for Rock Climbing which was alot of fun! We had open climb which was really busy for a Sunday. After open climb we had league was fun because  got work with a kid that new to how league was ran. I did a bunch of easier routes to show how some things work that you wouldn't normally think would work. Monday I had school which was really fun. In my engineering class we went to launch model rockets. We learned how launching mechanism were set up/assembled. In my machining class we are designing clocks that we are going to create. We start building our clock Wednesday. Our climbing team is having a climb-a-thon to help us raise money to help pay for regional and national registration fees. All of the photos from last weekend and this weekend are posted both on Facebook and Flickr. Check them out there are alot of really cool shots.

Split Second Change

This weekend was really interesting. Friday I had school, a plyometric work out and then had to go babysit til midnight. Baby sitting was fun cause we tried to play mouse trap but the dog kept on stepping all over the game board. Saturday we took down an antenna off my buddies roof. After that I had to work until 4pm after work we up to Adventure Rock. While we were there I was having a really good day climbing. I was able to finish two routes that i have been having a lot of trouble with lately. I got both of them in only one fall. Nearing the end of my climbing I fell and got a back injury. Sunday i got to sleep in until 10am. Once I got up I had about an hour stretching session. Sunday my back was really tight when I was sitting or leaning against like a pole. I attempted to climb Sunday just to see how my body was feeling. I ending up doing about 15 climbs that slowly got a little harder. I worked up to about a 5.10 and i felt like nothing ever happened the day before. Monday was school and work. At school we are finishing up a project that we have sent about 4 weeks of class time on. We had climbing classes at the Y that lasted to about 8pm. After classes I had another hour for stretching. My back is feeling better than it did Sunday but my neck started to bug me a little.

This is the Way to Go

Super awesome weekend!! Friday I had one final to take than I got to go home and help a buddy fix a truck. It took us about an hour to find one part that took only 2 minutes to replace. I had to do a work out in plyometrics. It was fun but it was really hard to do. After that I worked open climb at the YMCA and then teen night. Nearing the end of teen night everyone went and played basketball. Saturday was cool. Worked from 10am to 3pm for open climb and parties. After work we headed up to Adventure Rock where we climbed for the next 6 hours. While we were there i attempted three 5.11 lead. One I got two holds from the top; the other two I got alittle bit above halfway. When we got back from Adventure Rock we watched Cars 2 which was really cool even though i kinda feel asleep more towards the end of the movie. Sunday was tough. I had a hangboard work out that lasted about 10 mins. After that my older brother and his new fiance had to leave to go to pensacola. At 11 I had a lifting program that was hard then I had a climbing program. When we got back from the Y we got to see all of the pictures that my mom took while she was in China. I also just ordered a new pair of climbing shoes. I got the Women Miura VS through Adventure Rock. Im hoping that I will be able to wear them when I go up ro Adventure this coming Saturday. Im really excited to climb in them when they come in.

I had a four day weekend. Thrusday and Friday I didn't have school so i went over to a buddies house and help move funiture around. Friday during open climb i got to teach a couple of people how to belay. It was alot of fun because they really picked up quick. We had worked on that for about an hour on working on how to belay and get the technique down. Saturday was alot of fun because I worked in the morning at the y for open climb. After work the team headed up to Adventure Rock to get some good training in for the day!!! It was a lot of fun because i get to try a 5.11 lead which i was really close to the top. Im really happy with how Saturday went for climbing. Sunday was cool because I had a work out and then worked open climb. After work I got to go out at trick or treat which was fun because I got to see alot of old friend I haven't seen in a while. Monday was fun. Science we watched a movie on cancer which was really interesting. In my engineering class we are building a Rude Goldberg machine. This class is my favorite I'm gonna be upset when the semester ends. Block three we are in electronics. We get to learn how we set up and draw semantics. After school I had to finish a bunch of reviews for finals this week. After that I worked at the y for climbing class. I also signed up for the president challenge. Im going for the platinum , I have to get a million points in a year. Everything active that you do you get points for. I'm at 5000 points in just two days.

Fundraising weekend!!

This weekend went great. It started off by climbing real hard Friday for about 3 hours and then relaxing to watch a new climbing movie which was the coolest movies I have seen. Saturday was a pretty fun day because I helped out with a fundraiser for a club that I am a part of. It helped raise money so that we can buy the things we need to help build a supermilage vehicle for Challenge Wisconsin. We raised over $500 to go towards parts for our vehicle. After we had dinner and everything we played a card game which i had won. Sunday I got to a a lifting program and then got to set a bunch of new routes at the YMCA during open climb and league. After climbing the team had a fundraiser at tazinos. We had quite a few people there to help support our team. I'm pretty happy with how many people showed up.  Monday i had school which had went by really fast. For the next two weeks i have three days of school due to Halloween weekend and finals coming up the week after. After school i had a core work out then worked climbing classes until 8pm. Starting next week i will be having a new weight training program. I'm excited for it because the one i am doing know its old and kinda boring cause I'm always doing the same thing each week. This past week i had won a petzl climbing helmet from a blog contests. I'm really excited because i will now have my own climbing helmet and wont need to borrow any ones. I cant wait until it gets here!!

busy but fun weekend

This weekend was alot of fun. Friday, when I got out of school I went up to adventure rock for Friday night Freak-out. While I was there I completed my second 5.10 at adventure rock. The route was alot of fun just got stuck in one spot. Since I had to go around this corner I had to heel hock the rock that my hand was on to reach the next hold. After that i had to lunge for a slopper that I stuck but the hold spun on me so I had to do it again and I stuck it again. This route was a brand new route that was just out up only a couple of hours before I there. When we were done bouldering we heading to the treadwall where I attemped a program that was a 5.13 and last a alittle more than a minute on it. Saturday was long but fun. We had open house at the local YMCA where 125+ people came through to the rock wall. Open house ran from 10am to 4pm and then we had a party after that till 5pm. Once everything was all done at the Y we heading out to a friends party. When we got home we started playing wii bowling for the next 3 hours which. Sunday was alot of fun. It started off with me doing a lifting program. Training was pretty cool because I did all my routes by lead climbing them. As of the moment there is not a route that i can not complete at the y. I have just completed all of them which is really cool because I can say "yeah I can do everything in here". Especially since couple of them are brand new routes that were put up this week.  All of the photos from this weekend are up on flickr. On October 23rd my climbing team is having a fundraiser. We would appericate if you came to help support us. The fundraiser is at Tazinos off of highway 50 in Kenosha, WI.

Taking it to the Max

This weekend was alot of fun!! Friday was a short day at school so I had time to finish a bunch of things. Friday night was open climb plus teen night, that gave me the chance to do a alot of technique drills. I also set a route at is really fun because you do a bunch of weird moves. Saturday I had to work till 1 pm then me and my coach headed up to Adventure Rock for a major lead climbing day. I was  having a good day climbing both sport and bouldering. Sport climbing I completed a 5.11 top rope and bouldering I finished a V4. I'm really happy with where I am at for both sport climbing and bouldering. After we were done bouldering we went to the treadwall where I finished a 5.11 program that was almost 200 feet tall.  Sunday was a fun but a training day. Did alot of laps and weighted climbing.  We also worked on power moves to help with overhangs while lead climbing. Worked on clipping my quickdraw off a bad hold for routes that there isnt a hold you would prefer to clip off of. This next week will be alot of fun because Friday night is Friday freak out at Adventure Rock till 11pm. October 21, is movie night at Adventure Rock till 10pm. I'm leaving around 3:30 so I can climbing really hard before the movie. All of the pictures and vidoes will be loaded in the next couple of days. You should check them out! It shows how the treadwall looks and how steep of a overhang was created on the treadwall. Check them out!

Devils Lake Trip

This weekend was alot of fun!!! Friday was teen night and I was playing acrade game till 10pm. I got to play DDR, snowboarding, and bmx. Saturday I got up at 4am to drive 3 hours to Devils Lake got there at 7 and got to set all the anchors for the ropes. We had all the ropes set up by 8am. We climbing for the next 8 hours. In those 8 hours I have taught how to do differnet types of anchoring. We had one rope set up on a 5.10 route that i did twice and another that was like a 5.8 that I didnt finish because of bees being on the route. I liked the 5.10 because it wasnt hard it was just a slow and control route. The first route was a mainly sloper rocks with no big holds in the route. You coudnt rush the route, which makes them more fun! Through-out the day I hiked more than 10 miles just for setting ropes and taking them down.We also got to climb and two differant areas on a tower which was new and a blast. Made very cool. Sunday is climbing league and training. Training on Sunday I did alot of technique and was on recovery from all the hiking the day before. After league I did my hangboard workout which I got through most of it. I also added photos from this weekend from to my flickr account. theres alot of cool stuff

Kick It Up a Notch

This weekend was a major training weekend! Friday was an active recovery so I did alot of slow easy/ technical climbs and then alot of stretching. Saturday was alot of fun because I got to try out a pair of Muira VS' for a couple hours. I liked them alot and I want them as my next pair of shoes. I warmed up on a 5.10 and then went a flashed a 5.11 that I have been projecting for the last two weeks. I did a couple other top ropes that I have been projecting and got a little bit farther on all of them. Then I went to lead climbing was a really good day. I warmed up on a 5.9 and then completed a new 5.10 with three falls. I am projecting another 5.10 to stick a more that I need to jump for. I worked on alot of 5.10s and 5.11s lead. Most of the 5.10s i was about half way them before I started falling. After awhile I went back to top rope and worked on 5.10+ to 5.12. I completed a 5.10+ and got half way on a 5.12 that I have been working on for two weeks. Sunday was fun but tough. I started off by doing a lifting program which just ate my hands up more than what they were. Climbing I was working on routes that I didn't finish from the competition from last Saturday at the Kenosha YMCA. Instead of trying them top rope I attempted them lead. There is one route I still need to finish, the rest from the comp I have finished. I have uploaded the photos and videos from The competitions last weekend and training at Adventure Rock, Saturday. This coming Saturday will be a lot of fun because I am going to Devil's Lake all day.

Awesome Comp Weekend

This weekend I had two climbing competitions. Friday was at Adventure Rock for Battle of the Ages. There I took 2nd place in my category which was ages 14-19. I went up against three people that were on the 2011 National Team. All of the routes I finished were 5.10s. The whole climbing team went up and everyone did good. When I was given my award Craig (owner of Adventure Rock) promoted the Kenosha YMCA Climbing Wall.  Also he mentioned the fact that I come from such a small gym and have gone so far. It was a good night of climbing for everyone.

Saturday was the climbing competition at the Kenosha YMCA. I competed in the advance division against three people. I took 1st place leading by 3000 points and was the youngest person climbing in the advanced division. All of the routes that I did were 5.10 to 5.12. Three of the routes were lead routes. Normally I can lead climb a 5.10 but finished a 5.10 as my warm up then was two rocks from the top on a 5.12 lead. The final route was a 5.12 also and I got about half way on it. My award for taking first place was a brand new pair of climbing shoes, a gold rope, and my name on our advanced champion harness. my name is the first one to be put on it!! Sunday we had our climbing league which was an active recovery and a major stretching session. During my active recovery I top roped the final route and flashed it like it was nothing. This year I have already improved about 3 grades in my climbing. I am thinking that I will be able to lead climb a 5.12 by the end of February. Monday I helped teach climbing classes and then after classes were all done I was put into an hour long hard climbing program none stop. I completed the final route lead with one fall. Four of the Six routes for the comp were top rope. Monday night I lead climbed all of the routes that I was to climb during the competition. This is gonna be an awesome season of climbing.

Its Still Fun and Games for NOW

This past weekend was pretty cool. Thursday I went to the Y to start my hard climbing training for the season. It was alot of fun!! We did more lead climbing than anything because I still need to work out some things with that before season starts. Friday was the most fun. The team went to Adventure Rock for a training night. While I was there I attempted a 5.10+ lead and got to a point where I needed to jump; and out of 20 times I only stuck it 3 times. In the process of trying to get this hold I fell the other 17 times. Five of the falls were 10ft+ falls (which is a first). That was my main goal for the night to complete that route because it was alot of fun. After we were done climbing I went and did 8 pull-ups to see how my body was feeling. Saturday was kinda funny. Since we went to Adventure Rock the night before I had my climbing with me. My little brother had a baseball game Saturday morning that i watched so I brought my climbing bag along. My super awesome pink chalk bag of a octopus was on the outside of my bag, so every one kept asking what was up with that and what sports I play. After my easy day of climbing I had to create a piece of the Colosseum for a school project. It was pretty cool even more so after we painted it. Sunday started team weight training. I got to help write out the program that we were doing for the day. It was most slow technical movements. Monday was the start of classes at the Y in the rock wall. The first day is fun just hard learning names. Tomorrow we are starting the set up for the competition this Saturday! Hope to see some new faces this year!! This weekend we are having a competition at the YMCA in Kenosha, WI. . This is our third annual  and it going to be alot of fun!!!.Plus I'm going up to Adventure Rock to compete in there battle of the ages on Friday. Also there photos from this past Friday are on my flickr account check them out!! Theres alot of neat pictures!!

Upper Limits Tour/Training Camp

The past five days I have been in a training camp going to a bunch of gyms. Friday I was in Bloomington, IL at Upper Limits. For the majority of the day I was lead climbing which I had the best day in about two weeks. Friday I flashed a 5.11 and then completed it two more times. When I wasn't lead climbing I was bouldering. I attempted a V6 and got one hold from the top, I also finished a V3. The V3 was fun because you had to go around this corner, in a swing motion, to this jug that higher than it looked.

Saturday we were in the St. Louis' upper limits climbing gym. We took our belay tests which i passed all of them. We warmed up on a 5.9 lead and then went on to climb the rest of the day on 5.10s or higher.  It was another great day of leas climbing because i fell on only one of those 5.10s. Most of the 5.10s i did were roof routes or over hangs. They were a lot of fun because i got to do some crazy moves. One move that i like a lot was a one handed and one footed clip on the steepest part of the roof. The next move was fun and a little painful because i had to go into the splits in order to be able to grab the next rock. Top rope was another good day because I was two holds from the top on a 5.12+. I'm really happy with how I'm climbing because the last couple weeks were rough. Saturday night we stopped by my grandma's house and visited with family. The best part of the night was being able to sit down for a while and watch a movie with my uncle.

Sunday was fun. We got up early and went to my Grandma's house to go fishing in her pond. We were outside for almost 5 hours just fishing. While we were out there we caught maybe in all of 30 fish (bluegill) and I got burnt again. Grandma made lunch for the family at 2pm. So my unlce Robet and aunt came over with my cousins, my uncle Jim, my step-uncle Jim. We all had lunch and stayed inside till 4. We went back to the pond and caught nothing so we went to my uncle Jim's pond and again caught nothing. After awhile we went inside and played a card game that last about an hour and a half. Once everything settled down I stretched for the next hour or so.

Monday was awesome!! We went to the brand new Upper Limits Climbing Gym in West County, MO. The pictures that are on their website don't do the real thing any justice. The wall had a major overhang and a roof. I warmed up on a 5.9 and 5.10 toprope  then went to lead climbing. Lead climbing was alot of fun. I flashed two 5.10c and then did them both again three more times. I also attempted two different 5.12s and made it half way up them. for lead climbing I didn't climb anything easier than a 5.10. I stayed mostly on the overhang. The best thing about monday was I could climb really hard routes all day.

There will be a bunch of new photos and videos that I will be uploading very soon. There is a lot of cool ones that look awsome and you should take a look at. Only two weeks til my first comp of the year!! I can't wait, I'm gonna tear it up!!!!!

Time for Something New

This past week has been great. Friday my old school consular, who is a good friend, came in with his family to climb. Saturday was fun training and then working in the shop. Sunday started a four day process of our tearing down in the rockwall. Sunday was taking all the holds down and cleaning them. Monday we put new routes up and checked the auto-belay system. Wednesday we will be cleaning up and re-taping sections on each wall for open climb. We are also getting ready for our comp that we have each year. This year it is on Sept. 17 at the Kenosha YMCA. We will also be getting all of the gear checked over and ready for my climbing training camp that I will be going on. Friday is the start of my climbing camp. My mom has planned a climbing trip that allows me and my coaches to go to all the Upper Limit Gyms, including the new one in West County, Missouri! While in St. Louis I will have the chance to stop by and visit my family that lives near by. I can't wait for labor day weekend because my older brother will be home for a couple days on leave. I'm really pumped about the next season starting in a couple months. Can't wait, it's gonna be a great year.

Future Mechanic

This weekend was good. Friday I went up to Adventure Rock to train.  Lead climbing wasn't completely there. Have to work on mental toughness. I had the power and strength to just not the mind that day. My top rope climbing was good. I was warming up on 5.10s and climbing 5.11 or 5.12s as my training. Saturday was the most fun. My brother showed me how to do an oil change on a vehicle by having me do it on his truck. Then later we looked at the condition of some parts on his dads truck to make sure they were still good. Sunday I helped clean out the back of our local rockwall. Plus had a hard day of training by doing laps on a 5.10 toprope. Monday was climbng classes for the kids and a core workout for me. Today was my high school registration and helping my brother change his alternator on his truck. Plus we had to do some metal fabrication and welding. We had to do weld up on a push dolly that the holls were totally wrong but we mad it work. Then one of our pull out tents arms broke. So we hat to cut and build that arm again. was a Blast. I like that alot. This year I will be going in to the ninth grade at LakeView Tech Acdemey in Pleasant Praire, WI. Its focus is engineering of all kinds like bio-engineering and manufacturing. This school is like a high school branch of Gateway College. This weekend is going to be alot of fun. We are going to tear down all the holds off the walls and reset somewhat to get ready for a comp that we are going to have at ymca.

Awsome Weekend

Well this weekend went great. Friday night was movie night, Saturday was the Air Show, Sunday was a day of climbing and Monday night was climbing class. Friday for movie night we watched the movie "Eight Men Out" that lasted until mid-night. Saturday we were at the air for 11am till 6pm in that time I had gotten burnt. I saw some of the coolest planes ever. My three favorites were the F-16, the FA-18, and the Thunder Birds. I took over 1500 photos with 3 videos of the Thunder Birds. Sunday was fun my coach and I went up to Adventure Rock for a good training. It was a good day just wasn't as good as I thought I might. I was pretty happy cause I was having a great day top rope. I was two holds from the top on a 5.11 and finished multiples of 5.10s. My day for lead just wasn't there. I had a hard time finishing routes that I normally can finish. Monday I taught climbing class at the YMCA for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 years of age. I also uploaded a bunch of new photos and videos to so you all can look at. Fun in the Sun

This weekend my mom had her company picnic and I went to E Street Bridge with my coach for some training exercises. Saturday was the picnic, in the morning I directed people in the parking lot and served ice cream in the afternoon. Between my two jobs I got to play a bunch of games that they had set up.  At the picnic I had won two Snap-On eight piece hex sets and a Snap-On impact wrench that was a water gun. Afterwards we went back my house and two neighbors came over and played cards. We had 8 people playing and normally when you have five people the game only take three hours. This card game had lasted five hours. We had alot of laughs and I'm hoping we can do that every Saturday night. Sunday me and my coach went to E Street Bridge where we spend the next two hours working on mental games and my bouldering. Then we went to the lake to look at the boats that were in the bay and to relax. As we were looking at the boats we were talking about weight training and things that I need to work on. I also have made a YouTube channel of different videos of me climbing and a flickr account of me climbing for you guys who want to check it out. Next Saturday, my mom has tickles to the Milwaukee Air Show and we get VIP seating and parking. Sunday my mom has VIP tickets to the American Airlines Air Show.

Warming Up

This weekend was a blast! I started out with watching my friends race in Food, Folks and Spokes on Friday. Saturday I headed up to Adventure Rock with some friends, where we spent the next 5 hours climbing. There I warmed up on a 5.9 lead following with two 5.8s lead. This weekend I was working on leading a 5.10+. I took a break from lead and moved to a 5.12 top rope that I have been projecting for two weeks. I am projecting this certain 5.12 because it is a lot of fun and I am able to get a little more than half way on it. Before I reach the spot that I fall, there is this move that I am a little short to do so I jump for it. Since I am jumping for this rock I start swinging. I swing just until I have enough control to bring my foot up to a heel hook move. We finished up with top rope by doing laps on three 5.10+ and a bunch more of fun routes that i just have to do when ever I am there.  We went back to lead climbing and I continued to work on 5.10s and did a set of laps on a 5.8. To finish up the day for climbing I cooled down on a 5.9 lead and did a couple of boulder problems and 5 pull ups. Sunday was perfect Mom had planned a suprise birthday party for my Dad's 60th birthday. We had ten people join us, along with my godparents. We spent the next 4 hours talking and making jokes and after wards we got back together to play a two hour long card game (which I won!). All in all this was a great weekend and I just can't wait till my season starts again. This past thrusday my mom decided that we were going to go out to Great Falls Park in Virgina about an hour away from Quantico. We finally get to go climb outside for more than a couple hours., but for like couple of days. We will be doing alot of top rope climbing. Some trad climbing to since my coach is comming with and is going to teach me and also use this as a training camp. My older brother is in Quantico for the next 3 months, we were also planning on visiting him if he had 72 hour leave.

Jump Start

I'm starting this blog to help everyone know what i do for training, climbing, and just being me. I'm starting to start training for next season. Right now my main focus is my weight lifting. I'm lifting 4 days a week different areas of body each day. climbing about 10 hrs a week. which is low for me.Sunday was a great day climbing. we went up to adventure rock.  when we go up there we climb very hard routes and a lot  of them .I started off warming up on a 5.9 lead and worked my way up. I attempted to top rope a 5.12b to make it about half way up. While I was climbing I realized it was becoming harder to climb a consist 5.10. part of my training when i go there is when I'm all done try to do as many pull ups as i can. After climbing my hands were so beat up that it hurt to close my hands. all in all its been a good training this week and a lot of fun and good training up at adventure rock
