Upper Limits Tour/Training Camp

The past five days I have been in a training camp going to a bunch of gyms. Friday I was in Bloomington, IL at Upper Limits. For the majority of the day I was lead climbing which I had the best day in about two weeks. Friday I flashed a 5.11 and then completed it two more times. When I wasn't lead climbing I was bouldering. I attempted a V6 and got one hold from the top, I also finished a V3. The V3 was fun because you had to go around this corner, in a swing motion, to this jug that higher than it looked.

Saturday we were in the St. Louis' upper limits climbing gym. We took our belay tests which i passed all of them. We warmed up on a 5.9 lead and then went on to climb the rest of the day on 5.10s or higher.  It was another great day of leas climbing because i fell on only one of those 5.10s. Most of the 5.10s i did were roof routes or over hangs. They were a lot of fun because i got to do some crazy moves. One move that i like a lot was a one handed and one footed clip on the steepest part of the roof. The next move was fun and a little painful because i had to go into the splits in order to be able to grab the next rock. Top rope was another good day because I was two holds from the top on a 5.12+. I'm really happy with how I'm climbing because the last couple weeks were rough. Saturday night we stopped by my grandma's house and visited with family. The best part of the night was being able to sit down for a while and watch a movie with my uncle.

Sunday was fun. We got up early and went to my Grandma's house to go fishing in her pond. We were outside for almost 5 hours just fishing. While we were out there we caught maybe in all of 30 fish (bluegill) and I got burnt again. Grandma made lunch for the family at 2pm. So my unlce Robet and aunt came over with my cousins, my uncle Jim, my step-uncle Jim. We all had lunch and stayed inside till 4. We went back to the pond and caught nothing so we went to my uncle Jim's pond and again caught nothing. After awhile we went inside and played a card game that last about an hour and a half. Once everything settled down I stretched for the next hour or so.

Monday was awesome!! We went to the brand new Upper Limits Climbing Gym in West County, MO. The pictures that are on their website don't do the real thing any justice. The wall had a major overhang and a roof. I warmed up on a 5.9 and 5.10 toprope  then went to lead climbing. Lead climbing was alot of fun. I flashed two 5.10c and then did them both again three more times. I also attempted two different 5.12s and made it half way up them. for lead climbing I didn't climb anything easier than a 5.10. I stayed mostly on the overhang. The best thing about monday was I could climb really hard routes all day.

There will be a bunch of new photos and videos that I will be uploading very soon. There is a lot of cool ones that look awsome and you should take a look at. Only two weeks til my first comp of the year!! I can't wait, I'm gonna tear it up!!!!!

Time for Something New

This past week has been great. Friday my old school consular, who is a good friend, came in with his family to climb. Saturday was fun training and then working in the shop. Sunday started a four day process of our tearing down in the rockwall. Sunday was taking all the holds down and cleaning them. Monday we put new routes up and checked the auto-belay system. Wednesday we will be cleaning up and re-taping sections on each wall for open climb. We are also getting ready for our comp that we have each year. This year it is on Sept. 17 at the Kenosha YMCA. We will also be getting all of the gear checked over and ready for my climbing training camp that I will be going on. Friday is the start of my climbing camp. My mom has planned a climbing trip that allows me and my coaches to go to all the Upper Limit Gyms, including the new one in West County, Missouri! While in St. Louis I will have the chance to stop by and visit my family that lives near by. I can't wait for labor day weekend because my older brother will be home for a couple days on leave. I'm really pumped about the next season starting in a couple months. Can't wait, it's gonna be a great year.

Future Mechanic

This weekend was good. Friday I went up to Adventure Rock to train.  Lead climbing wasn't completely there. Have to work on mental toughness. I had the power and strength to just not the mind that day. My top rope climbing was good. I was warming up on 5.10s and climbing 5.11 or 5.12s as my training. Saturday was the most fun. My brother showed me how to do an oil change on a vehicle by having me do it on his truck. Then later we looked at the condition of some parts on his dads truck to make sure they were still good. Sunday I helped clean out the back of our local rockwall. Plus had a hard day of training by doing laps on a 5.10 toprope. Monday was climbng classes for the kids and a core workout for me. Today was my high school registration and helping my brother change his alternator on his truck. Plus we had to do some metal fabrication and welding. We had to do weld up on a push dolly that the holls were totally wrong but we mad it work. Then one of our pull out tents arms broke. So we hat to cut and build that arm again. was a Blast. I like that alot. This year I will be going in to the ninth grade at LakeView Tech Acdemey in Pleasant Praire, WI. Its focus is engineering of all kinds like bio-engineering and manufacturing. This school is like a high school branch of Gateway College. This weekend is going to be alot of fun. We are going to tear down all the holds off the walls and reset somewhat to get ready for a comp that we are going to have at ymca.

Awsome Weekend

Well this weekend went great. Friday night was movie night, Saturday was the Air Show, Sunday was a day of climbing and Monday night was climbing class. Friday for movie night we watched the movie "Eight Men Out" that lasted until mid-night. Saturday we were at the air for 11am till 6pm in that time I had gotten burnt. I saw some of the coolest planes ever. My three favorites were the F-16, the FA-18, and the Thunder Birds. I took over 1500 photos with 3 videos of the Thunder Birds. Sunday was fun my coach and I went up to Adventure Rock for a good training. It was a good day just wasn't as good as I thought I might. I was pretty happy cause I was having a great day top rope. I was two holds from the top on a 5.11 and finished multiples of 5.10s. My day for lead just wasn't there. I had a hard time finishing routes that I normally can finish. Monday I taught climbing class at the YMCA for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 years of age. I also uploaded a bunch of new photos and videos to so you all can look at. End of the month we are going to do a upper limits climbing gym tour. We going to do bloomigton, st. louis, and the brad new one in west county. Plus I will be able to visit and hangout with grandma.
